Patient Access Representative, Full-Time (On-site)

Job Summary
Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact for patients, business partners, vendors, and employees. Responsibilities include completing patient registration activities, performing clerical and reception duties, admitting patients to the facility, collecting co-payments/deductibles, verifying demographics and financial information, and maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA. Requires strong communication, proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and experience in a medical clerical setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two or more years of general clerical experience required
- Previous clerical experience or leadership experience required
- Strong communication skills required
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to interface with the staff at the insurance carriers, HIM, and Business Office
- Ability to read, write and understand documents, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information one-to-one and in group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Critical thinking skills required
- Effective PC skills
- Prior experience in medical clerical environment preferred
- Two or more years of general clerical experience required
