Job Summary
Register patients and manage front-line information workflows for Humboldt Park Health. Responsibilities include obtaining clinical, demographic and insurance information from patients or guarantors, completing registration and consent forms, verifying benefits and obtaining prior approvals, scheduling in Meditech CWS, pre-registering inpatients and outpatients, and handling related documentation such as IDs, insurance cards, and death certificates when necessary. Requires accurate data entry, attention to confidentiality, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and staff. Proficiency with typing and familiarity with medical terminology are needed; Meditech experience is a plus. The role supports a full-time schedule with daytime hours and occasional weekend/holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience
- Third-party eligibility and general knowledge of medical and accounting terminology
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to type 40 WPM
- Experience on the Meditech system a plus
