Job Summary
As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing extraordinary customer service in person or by phone. Duties include greeting and verifying demographics, registering patients, collecting co-payments and balances, coordinating scheduling and referrals, arranging pre-authorizations and interpreter services, operating a multi-line phone, handling telemedicine coordination, managing recall/waitlists, and supporting chart preparation and document routing. The role encompasses payment processing, patient financial assistance coordination, and basic office duties, with opportunities to engage in health information management and patient scheduling to support a positive patient experience across Sanford Health facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential
- Six months' customer service experience desired
