Job Summary
Registration and scheduling duties across patient access and pre-registration workflows. Handles patient questions, processes co-payments/deductibles/insurance verifications, secures confidential information, and maintains a welcoming patient experience. Ensures accurate patient demographics, guarantor assignment, real-time eligibility checks, and proper documentation such as ABNs and consent forms. Emphasizes effective communication, first-contact resolution, and adherence to confidentiality while coordinating with clinical departments and ensuring smooth registration and scheduling processes for both inpatient and ambulatory encounters.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma
- Prior experience in patient access, practice management or another related healthcare role
- Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance verification, and authorization processes
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in using hospital information systems and related software
- Demonstrated ability to function independently with minimal supervision
