Patient Access Representative - Emergency Department - Part Time

Job Summary
Greet and register incoming patients, verify demographics, and coordinate front-line office activities for the Emergency Department. Check patients in for appointments, monitor wait times, and communicate changes as necessary. Read insurance responses, assign primary and secondary insurance per encounter, and collect fees while explaining financial obligations. Complete regulatory forms, schedule follow-up appointments, and process multi-channel messages regarding referrals and prescriptions. Maintain patient recall lists, assist with pre-certifications, and ensure accurate medical record maintenance while adhering to HIPAA and privacy guidelines. Independently resolve work queues to meet productivity expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year Related work experience
