Patient Access Representative - Byron Center

Job Summary
Patient Access Representative greets patients/family members and collects/verifies demographic, clinical and insurance information to register patients for service. Responsibilities include entering patient/guarantor data into the patient accounting system, collecting signatures on forms, imaging/copying registration documents, obtaining and processing signed physician orders, conducting online insurance eligibility/benefit verification, notifying patients about liabilities, and referring cases to financial counseling as needed. May provide escort/directional support to patients, family members and visitors. Training occurs during the first two weeks. Location is onsite in Byron Center, MI. Requires 1 year of customer service experience and HS diploma or equivalent; HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year of hire. Nice-to-have knowledge includes medical terminology and diagnostic/procedural coding; insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations. Demonstrates Trinity Health values and confidentiality, and supports performance improvement and data analysis activities.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year customer service experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
