Job Summary
Schedule outpatient appointments and procedures, coordinate referrals, and conduct pre-authorization while gathering medical records and referral documents before visits. Greet patients, verify demographics, register patients, and handle related paperwork including creating electronic files and capturing signatures. Collect co-payments and payments on account balances, resolve registration work queue errors, and address denied insurance claims. Operate multi-line telephones, serve as a switchboard operator, and coordinate Telemed appointments. Collaborate with the nursing team to meet patient needs, manage recall and waitlists, and track visits. Serve as a mentor for new staff and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of work experience
- Medical terminology
- Customer service skills
- BLS
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- Six months' customer service experience
