Job Summary
Patient Access Representative position at Sanford Health responsible for greeting patients, verifying demographics, handling registrations, appointments, referrals, pre-authorizations, co-pays and payments; coordinates with nursing/providers to schedule appointments, assist with interpreter services and telemedicine; manages charts, patient financial assistance, recall/waitlists, and front-desk duties including multi-line phone, check-in/out, and basic healthcare information management; requires post-secondary training or experience in healthcare/business, strong customer service and computer skills, familiarity with billing systems and third-party payers; location in Bemidji, MN (US) with on-site clinic work.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education or equivalent training in a healthcare or business related field is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in an office setting, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of registration procedures, extensive computer skills, basic knowledge of system applications, billing systems, and third party payers is preferred.
- Medical terminology desired.
