Job Summary
Patient Access Representative responsible for greeting patients, verifying demographics, managing registrations, collecting payments, coordinating scheduling and referrals, and providing exceptional customer service in a Family Medicine setting. Responsibilities include handling insurance and payment processing, coordinating telemedicine and appointment logistics, managing patient records and reminders, and supporting office duties and care coordination within Sanford Health's rural Midwest network. Requires post-secondary education or equivalent training in healthcare/business fields (preferred), strong computer skills, familiarity with billing systems and third-party payers, and medical terminology knowledge. The role involves front-office activities, patient data capture, financial arrangements, scheduling with nursing/providers, and potential telemedicine coordination, in a full-time clinic environment in Bemidji, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education or equivalent training in a healthcare or business related field is preferred
- Previous customer service experience in an office setting, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of registration procedures, extensive computer skills, basic knowledge of system applications, billing systems, and third party payers is preferred
- Medical terminology desired
