Job Summary

As a Patient Access Representative, you are the first contact handling patient registration, demographics, insurance verification, billing questions, scheduling, and front-desk duties across Women’s Care sites. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, obtaining and confirming patient demographics, updating patient profiles, scanning insurance cards and IDs into the EMR system, setting up payment plans, ensuring HIPAA-compliant processes, answering a high volume of calls and emails, confirming next-day appointments, assisting with online registration, verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring the lobby is clean and welcoming while upholding the Women’s Care mission and core values. The role requires strong customer service, organizational, communication, and computer skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have exceptional customer service experience and a true desire to help others while providing a positive patient experience at every encounter
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Must have a customer-centric focus and present themselves in warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • High level of computer literacy with the ability to use and/or quickly learn computer programs including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume and dynamic atmosphere
  • Ability to communicate and work efficiently with patients, co-workers, and providers
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual
  • Preferred: one year of experience in medical office/healthcare setting; OB-GYN a plus
  • Preferred: familiarity with medical terminology and billing; experience with electronic medical records such as eCW
