Job Summary
Patient Access Representative handling data collection and patient communications at point of service, including obtaining signatures, processing admission/service information, verifying third-party payer eligibility, applying codes, collecting payments, and performing office and switchboard duties. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, PC/CRT data entry, strong written/verbal communication, organizational and time-management skills, and adherence to hospital and departmental policies. Supports after-hours/weekend admissions and cross-training within the department; role involves interdepartmental coordination to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Experience in customer service preferred
