Job Summary
Performs department patient and visitor reception, directs patients to the appropriate location, and verifies insurance and billing information. Audits charts daily for completeness and accuracy, completes follow-ups, and prepares paperwork used during patient care. Maintains >95% accuracy, communicates effectively with patients and professionals, and supports department improvements. Trains and orients new department clerical staff; demonstrates competence in alignment with the organization's mission and standards, and remains aware of age- and culture-specific practices of customers.
Required Qualifications
- Medical or clerical experience
- 50 wpm keyboard skills
- Excellent spelling, math, problem solving skills
- Filing skills

- Ability to work independently and with co-workers as well as communicate effectively with patients and professionals
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and attend to detail
- Preferred: Medical terminology
