Patient Access Rep

Job Summary
Registration, insurance verifications, patient collections, referrals and scanning of documents into the EPM system are core responsibilities. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers with prompt, courteous responses within 24 hours. Verify insurance eligibility, collect patient co-pays and balances, and support care coordination goals. Assist patients with paperwork and questions regarding insurance or balances, cross-train to cover teammates, and perform other duties as assigned in a clinical setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 Years of medical office or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent computer/10-key skills
- Knowledge with Word and Excel systems
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain quality control standards
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of EHR system is a plus
- Type at least 40 WPM
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements
