Job Summary
Greet patients and guests, initiate scheduling and complete the patient registration/admission process, verify demographics for the medical record, and collect/verify insurance information. Perform at the point of service for scheduling, registration, and patient financial interactions, including inputting demographic data, explaining insurance benefits, collecting co-pays/deductibles/self-pay amounts, and conducting financial analysis of cases. Balance cash drawer, maintain professionalism under high-stress situations, and collaborate with other departments while protecting patient privacy and complying with billing regulations. Cross-train to support multiple functions across patient and payer types; strong data-entry and computer skills are required. This role emphasizes patient-facing interactions, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to confidentiality in a hospital/clinic setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital/clinic/customer service environment
