Job Summary
Verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure proper billing and contact patients regarding treatment or payment issues. Obtain pre-certifications and insurance authorizations for scheduled procedures, then collect co-pays, deductibles, and deposits. Direct and escort patients and visitors to designated locations while providing resources for billing inquiries. Oversee cashier responsibilities by posting payments and creating facility-specific deposits, maintaining accuracy through vendor services and department policies. Obtain room assignments via vendor services and communicate admissions to nursing and clinical staff. Complete all required annual competencies and adhere to hospital procedures for outpatient orders. This role supports the front-line operations of Marshall Medical Centers' Cancer Care Center, requiring a high school diploma and familiarity with Microsoft Office systems.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- A working knowledge of computers and systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
