Job Summary
Patient Access Representative role handling greeting, pre-registration/registration, insurance verification, and financial responsibility collection in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include verifying benefits, pre-certification/authorization needs, conducting medical necessity checks, obtaining patient signatures, delivering professional customer service, resolving issues, and coordinating revenue cycle-related communications with patients, physicians, and staff. The position rotates through various patient access areas and may require a variety of shifts.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalency
- Associate degree (Preferred)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in insurance verification and medical office/hospital customer service
- Outpatient Registration experience
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
