Patient Access Rep ER, PRN, Nights

Job Summary
Greet and interview patients or callers to obtain accurate demographic, financial, and medical information for registration and admission. Accurately enter data into the registration system, verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and determine patient financial responsibility by collecting and posting payments. Assist patients with payment arrangements and admission forms, then escort them to treatment locations while performing registration duties with minimal supervision. Provide coverage in other Patient Access areas as needed and deliver service recovery using AIDET and HEATT protocols. Manage personal attendance and complete required departmental meetings and NetLearning assessments.
Required Qualifications
- High School / GED required
- Excellent verbal and written skills required
- Must possess ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must demonstrate effective time management skills
- Must demonstrate efficiency and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Two years customer service strongly preferred
- Previous registration, scheduling, insurance, medical records, or billing experience preferred
