Job Summary
Patient Access Registrar I at Fort Washington Medical Center with a rotating shift (6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:30pm), full-time. Responsible for hospital registration of outpatient and inpatient services, collecting financial information for reimbursement and statistics, communicating effectively with patients and staff, training new team members, ensuring patient liabilities are paid at time of service, and coordinating bed placement under hospital guidelines. Requires 1 year of healthcare experience and 1 year in patient registration/eligibility and benefits; knowledge of government payer rules and various payment sources; high school graduate (some college preferred); strong multitasking and PC skills. Offers competitive benefits and a non-exempt schedule. Salary range $19.21–$24.90 hourly (annualized to $39,957–$51,792).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience within a healthcare environment
- At least 1 year experience in patient registration and/or eligibility and benefits
- Requires some knowledge/training in government payer rules and regulations
- Requires some knowledge/training regarding TPLs, WC, and other payment sources and liabilities
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Basic knowledge of office equipment and PC skills
