Job Summary
Answer telephone calls to make appointments for patients referred to specialty providers and follow up on outbound referrals to hospitals. Complete and mail referral forms, log all activities into the tracking system, and notify patients of scheduled appointments. Receive patient records after service and forward them to Medical Records for scanning, while assisting with HIPAA compliance and clerical duties as assigned. Requires two years of office management training and one year of medical office experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of post-high school training in office management or similar course of study
- one (1) year of medical office work experience
- At least one (1) year of medical terminology
- Able to work without supervision
- Understand English grammar and office etiquette
- Possess clerical skills & able to operate office equipment (e.g. fax, copier, etc.)
- Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft office products
- Possess Organizational skills and have ability to work under deadlines
- Ability to multi-task establishes priorities, works independently and proceeds with objectives without supervision
- Clear speech and adequate hearing and vision
