Job Summary
Patient Access Manager (PAM) for the Upper Midwest region (Minneapolis/St Paul and Chicago) tasked with educating providers, support staff, and patients on the prescription process, prior authorization requirements, specialty pharmacies, and patient resources, both in person and virtually. Partners with patient services, the specialty pharmacy, and other field teams to remove barriers to therapy access, monitors payer trends and patient needs, and collaborates with patient advocacy groups to support patient access. Maintains HIPAA/compliance standards and leverages experience in rare diseases to support education and therapy access across assigned territory. Must be prepared to travel up to 40% and engage with healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers to ensure ongoing access and education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Advanced degrees (RN, MSN, MBA) are a plus
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant rare disease experience, including product launches
- Deep expertise in prescription coverage, access strategies, payer trends, and authorization escalations
- Experience collaborating with provider offices such as a physician practice, patient assistance programs, patient services, or similar pharmaceutical support program strongly preferred
- Experience partnering directly with patients and caregivers in rare disease both in person and virtually
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communications as well as presentation skills
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Understand HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy
