Job Summary
Lead patient access operations at a new hospital in Rapid City, SD. Oversee patient registration, insurance verification and authorizations; train and supervise front desk staff; ensure accurate collection of patient demographics and financial information; manage upfront collections of copayments, deductibles, and self-pay accounts; maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality; conduct quality assurance audits and performance improvement activities; schedule staff to maintain efficient front desk coverage; collaborate with clinical departments to resolve registration issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years insurance verification and benefits experience
- Knowledge of CMS and Medicaid programs
- Experience with HIPAA compliance and medical records management
- Previous hospital or medical office management experience
- Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare workflows
- Verifiable leadership experience in a customer-facing role
