Job Summary
Manage operations for admitting, registration, and financial services departments at acute care locations, including assigning MRNs, processing physician orders, and ensuring accurate accounting and cash deposits. Develop and manage departmental staffing needs while coordinating schedules for adequate daily coverage and preparing monthly performance reports. Coach staff on goal-setting and performance interventions to optimize operations and meet revenue cycle targets. Collect and interpret performance data to drive decisions that improve customer satisfaction and align with organizational financial goals. Work closely with internal and external customers and ancillary departments to maintain positive relations and support revenue cycle objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 – 3 year's management experience in healthcare industry
- Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance or call center preferred
- Experience with Microsoft a must
- Ability to balance numerous priorities, therefore requiring great skills in prioritization
- Ability to understand and master numerous computer applications, while also understanding information technology enough to work with the I.T. department to ensure the technological needs of the department are being met
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and the management of teams using AI to lean in to process and technological improvements, to include the exploration, experimentation, and application of AI
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare Management/Administration
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
- Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification
- Must be able to work on-site at Mercy - Lorain Hospital in Lorain, OH
