Job Summary
Lead daily patient access operations, manage registration areas to ensure quality and productivity, and oversee site-specific medical records and dietary functions in collaboration with the registered dietician. Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, and HIPAA regulations while compiling, analyzing, and reporting data for patient access quality measures. Direct hiring, training, and evaluation of patient access team members, ensuring all personnel policies are followed and providing continuous education on point-of-service collections. Prepare work schedules, manage payroll, and handle cash drawer reconciliation and weekly deposits. Perform patient registration duties as needed, distribute mail, order supplies, and maintain a clean working environment across the facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A four-year degree in business or healthcare
- A minimum of five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting
- A minimum of two years supervisory experience in health care setting
- Emergency Department registration experience
- Knowledge of various types of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, and Medicaid.) and payors
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge or previous experience using EMR
- Excellent customer service
- Working knowledge with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
- Pennsylvania Candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date
Desired Qualifications
- A four-year degree in business or healthcare highly preferred
- Emergency Department registration experience, strongly preferred
