Job Summary
Lead daily patient access operations by managing registration, ensuring accurate daily registrations, and maintaining compliance with EMTALA, DNV, and HIPAA regulations. Direct all areas of admissions to ensure quality and productivity while overseeing site-specific medical records management and dietary functions in collaboration with the registered dietician. Compile and analyze data for quality measures, reconcile cash drawers, prepare weekly deposits, and manage work schedules and payroll. Interview, hire, train, and evaluate patient access team members, providing continuous education on point-of-service collections and policy updates. Maintain a clean facility environment, distribute mail, order supplies, and perform month-end procedures including chart shredding and archiving. Work closely with regional partners on special projects and attend mandatory staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A four-year degree in business or healthcare
- A minimum of five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting
- A minimum of two years supervisory experience in health care setting
- Emergency Department registration experience
- Knowledge of various types of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, and Medicaid.) and payors
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge or previous experience using EMR
- Excellent customer service
- Working knowledge with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
- Pennsylvania Candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date
Desired Qualifications

- Emergency Department registration experience, strongly preferred
