Job Summary
Field-based Patient Access Liaison (PAL) helping patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers navigate insurance coverage and reimbursement for Amgen therapies. Supports prior authorization requirements, reimbursement processes, coding and billing considerations, and access barriers. Engages patients and providers via phone, virtual, and in-person interactions; educates on coverage considerations, co-pay assistance programs, and available resources. Educates physician offices and sites of care on therapy coverage pathways and reimbursement processes; resolves access challenges before and after infusion; escalates complex issues to internal stakeholders. Collaborates with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care teams to inform access strategies. Maintains HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation; travel up to 50% may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Level 5 or Level 6 basic qualifications for patient services and/or access and reimbursement experience as specified: Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree AND 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree AND 4 years OR Associate’s degree AND 8 years OR High school diploma/GED AND 10 years of experience; Level 6 equivalent requirements with higher year counts; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage complex patient situations; cross-functional field team experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM and related systems; knowledge of prior authorization processes, coding, and billing; HIPAA and FDA regulatory familiarity; patient support program knowledge; learning agility; decision quality; stakeholder engagement; rapid response to urgent access needs; travel readiness (up to 50%); remote work arrangements where possible
