Job Summary
Answer, screen, and direct incoming and outgoing telephone calls, electronic messages, and web-based communications using the call management system. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel initial and follow-up medical appointments while registering patients and verifying insurance coverage to advise them of estimated financial responsibility. Perform data entry, maintain medical databases for bumps and cancellations, and ensure data integrity within the Call Management system and Qgenda. Coordinate care with patient coordinators, nurses, and physicians to secure appointments, and may page physicians as dictated by internal procedures. Maintain consistent accuracy in all tasks, follow HIPAA regulations, and demonstrate high-level customer service with first-call resolution goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience working in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare department/ environment (or combination of that equals two or more years)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Associate's or Bachelors' degree in healthcare, business or operations field
- Specialized/technical training Vocational certificates in healthcare
- Knowledge of HIPPA compliance and various health insurance types
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated knowledge of high-level computer literacy with practice management scheduling systems
- Bilingual: Spanish, Chinese and other languages
