Patient Access Coordinator I-Wexford Surgery Center-Part-time

Job Summary
Performs scheduling, preregistration, and financial processes for patients, including verifying demographic data, identifying and validating medical benefits, accurate plan codes and COB order, obtaining limited clinical data, and updating information to ensure timely bill submission. Conducts insurance verification via payor contacts or electronic systems, determines authorization/referral requirements, and provides necessary documentation and follow-up to physician offices, case management, and payors. Calculates and collects patient liabilities and reconciles daily transactions in the ADT system, identifies self-pay liabilities, and escalates complex cases to Financial Counselors. Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains relationships with patients, AHN staff, and external agencies. Maintains productivity standards and completes mandatory training, while adhering to organizational policies and HIPAA/privacy requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One previous year of related experience, preferably within a medical setting, financial services setting, and/or a demanding customer service environment
