Job Summary
Patient Access Coordinator I responsible for collecting patient information, registering patients, scheduling in Cadence and/or OpTime, coordinating care with other services and minimizing access delays, processing referrals, triaging patient telephone calls to appropriate resources, sending MyChart invitations, collecting and updating demographic and financial information for optimal reimbursement, checking in patients, collecting copays and outstanding balances, informing of and collecting signed consent for care, maintaining infection prevention standards, participating in strategic initiatives and hospital goal work, and effectively communicating with patients and families. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum two years in customer service/administrative support and/or healthcare with scheduling/registration, and completion of Epic Training with passing EUPA within two weeks of start date. Preferred Associate’s Degree or two years of college coursework in healthcare or related field; minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare settings or with the general public in healthcare/customer service; familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years customer service and/or administrative support experience, and/or healthcare experience with/without scheduling and registration experience.
- Must complete Epic Training and obtain a passing score on EUPA test within two (2) weeks of start date
- Preferred Associate’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a health care setting or related field
- Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment
- Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills
