Job Summary
Place, receive, and route a high volume of calls through the switchboard while greeting callers with a compassionate, professional manner. Answer patient and family questions, supply accurate information, and relay messages or transfer calls to appropriate staff. Schedule appointments, procedures, and reschedule requests per provider protocols, ensuring insurance plans are accepted and updating demographic data. Page physicians or clinical staff for emergencies, retrieve messages from mailboxes, and escalate complaints to managers as needed. Maintain knowledge of physician specialties, scheduling preferences, and all IBJI locations and services. Adhere to the assigned work schedule and assist in maintaining a clean, safe office environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in customer service role
- Must possess outstanding customer service skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must possess good working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications
- Must have a pleasant voice
- Must have a clear manner of speaking
- Must have proven professional written and verbal communication
- Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to explain an extensive variety of instructions
- Must be able to collect data
- Must be able to establish facts
