Job Summary
Patient Access Coordinator to join Pacific Cancer Care’s Front Office team in Los Gatos. Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling check-in, verify insurance information, collect payments, schedule appointments, maintain patient records in the EMR, respond to inquiries, coordinate with clinical staff to optimize schedules, ensure HIPAA compliance, and provide administrative support across the clinic. Requires strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity with EMR systems (OncoEMR or similar), knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED — Required
- Associate’s degree or MA certification — Preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare front desk, medical scheduling, or administrative role – Required
- Familiarity with OncoEMR or similar EMR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new healthcare applications
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing needs, and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, patient billing, and medical record collection
- Familiarity with oncology workflows
