Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors in person or by telephone, providing directional assistance and managing conflict with a professional demeanor. Complete pre-registration and register patients with accurate demographic and financial data, while verifying insurance eligibility, addressing co-insurance, and assisting with prior authorizations. Manage daily appointment schedules, conduct reminder calls to referrals, and transport patients using escort or wheeled equipment. Ensure HIPAA compliance and adhere to safety procedures, including monitoring for distress signs and reporting unusual activity to security. Maintain a high standard of customer service and cultural competency while serving Tribal Members.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current valid State of Alaska driver's license with a record acceptable to KIC's Insurance carrier
- Two (2) years customer service, registration processing, medical office or computer database experience
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of CPT / ICD coding
- Progressive responsible administrative/management work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform duties of this position
