Job Summary
Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity checks, and process physician orders while collecting insurance information and point-of-service collections. Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls with compassion, adhering to all regulatory compliance requirements. Conduct audits of accounts to ensure forms are completed accurately and timely, providing statistical data to leadership. Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits by obtaining demographic and insurance data, explaining consent forms, and distributing patient education documents. Review eligibility responses to select applicable insurance plan codes and enter benefit data to support clean claim rates. Screen medical necessity using ABN software to inform Medicare patients of potential non-payment. Work onsite at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Hospital in shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI
- High School Diploma/GED
- CRCR certification (Required within 9 months of hire)
