Job Summary
The Patient Access Associate Specialist will perform admitting duties across a hospital setting, including pre-registration, MRN assignment, insurance verification, collecting demographics and patient financial information, and facilitating point-of-service collections. Responsibilities include reviewing medical necessity and insurance benefits, using ABN software to inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment, distributing and explaining consent forms and patient education documents, conducting audits, and providing excellent customer service as measured by metrics such as Press Ganey. The role requires walking between rooms while pushing a 10-pound mobile computer, operating the hospital telephone switchboard, and ensuring compliance with policies across the organization. Required Qualifications
