Job Summary

Contact insurance carriers and review automated systems to determine coverage and eligibility. Initiate and screen insurance plans during registration, then conduct follow-ups with patients or attorneys to obtain required accident information. Inform insurance companies of all admissions and surgical cases prior to service. Immediately refer uninsured patients to third-party vendors or start financial assistance applications. Assist in periodic audits of Charge and Service Masters to maximize revenue capture, research CPT codes, and prepare self-pay contracts. Perform quality assurance audits and complete pre-bill reports affecting claim submission.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Healthcare
  • Five (5) years' experience in patient access/registration, billing, cash collections, insurance, pre-certifications or related experience in a medical center/physician office environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or equivalent preferred
