Job Summary
Patient Access Associate/Floater role responsible for greeting patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, verifying eligibility, reviewing orders, determining insurance authorization needs, calculating and collecting patient financial responsibilities, and performing cashiering duties. The position requires the ability to learn multiple registration systems and provide patient service across hospital registration areas (including OB, Radiology, Lab, VADLAB, ER/Express Care, and Pre-Arrival) with flexibility for 24/7 coverage. Experience with Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaires (MSP) and creating ABNs when needed; knowledge of Medical Necessity checks; strong communication, typing speed, and organizational skills are essential; High school diploma or equivalent required, prior registration and customer service experience required, preferred Medical Terminology background.
Required Qualifications
- Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior Registration Experience is required
- Prior Customer Service Experience is required
- Typing skills of 40-50 wpm
- Medical Terminology course or background preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills needed
- Computer and organizational skills
