Job Summary
Complete assignments independently to improve workflow efficiency and minimize repetitive errors. Use logical processes to identify problem causes and develop solutions while selecting appropriate communication methods for diverse audiences. Explain insurance benefits and patient liability, then apply knowledge of online payer verification systems to validate insurance information accurately. Coordinate with departments to transport patients needing special support and interview individuals to document medical, financial, and demographic data. Educate patients on alternative payment sources, including medical assistance programs, loans, and grants. Report safety hazards and take immediate action to protect the environment and guests. Communicate scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians, and representatives professionally. Work full-time night shifts from 11:00pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend off.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service or 1 year of experience in a medical setting
- Associates degree in lieu of experience
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years' customer service experience
- 1 year' experience in a healthcare setting
