Job Summary
The Patient Access Advocate will greet patients in-person and over the phone, check patients in/out, verify benefits and collect copayments/deductibles, and perform clerical duties including data entry, copying, scanning, and faxing. The role requires maintaining a professional, welcoming demeanor, assisting staff and patients, handling front-desk operations, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and supporting a clean, organized reception area. Strong communication, collaboration, and computer skills are essential, with preference for candidate(s) who have at least 1 year of medical office experience and familiarity with health insurance verification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience in a medical office setting is a plus
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple demands
