Job Summary
Conduct patient registration, check-in, and check-out while verifying demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits. Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and point-of-service payments to ensure clean billing. Maintain accurate patient records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and scan, fax, or copy documentation. Answer incoming calls, assist with patient inquiries, and provide wayfinding support in a welcoming front-desk environment. Adhere to HIPAA, company policies, and customer service standards. This role supports the launch of a new combined Emergency Room and Urgent Care facility through the Deaconess–Intuitive Health partnership.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6+ months healthcare experience OR 1+ year customer service experience
- Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
- Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 2 shifts per week, including weekend rotation
- Self-scheduling available
Desired Qualifications
- Medical office or patient registration experience
- Insurance verification and eligibility experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and billing processes
