Job Summary
Pathology Support Specialist in the GI pathology lab provides essential support to pathology workflow, handling specimens, maintaining lab organization, data entry into LIS, coordinating with pathologists and staff, and performing routine CLIA-waived testing as needed. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate specimen handling, proper storage/tracking, processing daily specimens, distributing slides, maintaining a clean and safe lab, communicating effectively with clinical staff, and assisting with clerical tasks. Must demonstrate independent work, multitasking, reliable attendance, and a patient-focused approach to care. The role is based in the Southwest Portland GI Pathology Lab with typical hours Monday–Friday and a salary range of $22.23–$30.07 per hour, along with premium benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare lab setting required.
- Pathology Lab experience is a plus!
- Prior experience with EPIC/AP Beaker LIS is strongly preferred.
