Job Summary
Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling, accurately describe gross anatomic features of surgical specimens, and section specimens per departmental protocol. Perform quality control and assurance tests, prioritize and triage specimens, and recognize testing errors or discrepancies to notify appropriate personnel. Operate all instruments and equipment per written procedures, maintain necessary documentation and logs, and handle specimen disposal in compliance with regulatory policies. Meet acceptable turn-around time and productivity standards while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive patient information and ensuring a clean, orderly workplace. Requires a Master's degree with PA(ASCP) certification, 2-4 years of experience, and proficiency with a Laboratory Information System. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with weekends if needed.
