Job Summary
Conduct grossing, block, and frozen section procedures in the pathology laboratory, including specimen handling, decalcification, and photography. Access, bill, and label specimen containers and requisitions while resolving receipt issues and utilizing technology to enhance productivity. Describe, dictate, and dissect surgical specimens per departmental guidelines, utilizing computer systems to maintain accurate histology logs. Coordinate daily assignments and provide team support in the frozen section room, responding to organizational requests and participating in inter-departmental conferences. Requires a Pathologist Assistant graduate with an active NYS license, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Pathologist assistant graduated with PA license
- Bachelor's Degree in Pathologist Assistant or related field OR Graduate from an National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) approved Pathologists' Assistant program
- NYS Pathologist Assistant License
- NYS Pathologist Assistant Permit
- Strong communication (both oral and written)

Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years Anatomic pathology services
