Job Summary
Pathologists' Assistant (Per Diem) at PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals Metropolitan. Perform daily activities related to processing tissues from surgical procedures, ensure correct accessioning of surgical specimens, perform gross description and complete dissection, collect specimens for microbiology, tumor marker testing, and other analyses, select and submit tissue sections for microscopic examination (including frozen and permanent sections for light, electron, and fluorescent microscopy), photograph specimens, maintain storage and disposal of specimens, and serve as a backup for releasing and viewing deceased individuals. Assist with orientation and training of new hires and students. Requires New York State Pathologist Assistant License or New York State Limited Pathologist Assistant License and 3-5 years of related experience. Per Diem rate is $85.00 per hour.
