Job Summary
Pathologist to perform individual diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of surgical pathology and cytology cases, including a high volume of Gynecologic pathology specimens. Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards and provide accurate and timely evaluation of specimens. Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff. Requires Medical Degree and state medical licenses with board certification in Anatomic Pathology (or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology); Cytopathology board certification is highly desired; subspecialty training in Breast or Gastrointestinal pathology is a plus; prior experience in a high-volume laboratory setting is desirable. Schedule generally Monday–Friday 8am–5pm in Birmingham, AL; Labcorp is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages all to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree from an accredited college/university
- AL & GA Licensed Physician with Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology
- Must be eligible to obtain LA, MS, TN & FL state medical licenses
- Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desired
