Job Summary
Manage U.S. and foreign patent prosecution matters from filing through issuance, including preparing, reviewing, and electronically filing applications, responses, and formal documents via USPTO, WIPO, and other systems. Oversee response shells, IDS requirements, notice of allowance checklists, and client reporting emails while tracking executed signatures and monitoring deadlines. Respond to client inquiries, verify filing requirements, and provide status updates on pending matters. Independently prioritize assignments, maintain a secondary docket, and utilize quality-control procedures to ensure accuracy. Assist with special projects such as assignment recordation and portfolio transfers, offering cross-coverage when workload demands arise.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution experience
- U.S. and foreign patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment
- Thorough understanding of U.S. and international patent procedures, including the MPEP, 37 C.F.R., PCT Regulations, and foreign prosecution requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
