Job Summary
Senior-Lead role in patent search and analytics within Clarivate's IP Services Japan team, based in Tokyo. Lead and manage IP-focused projects, deliver patent search and analytics outputs, develop compelling proposals, and present insights to clients primarily in Japan and across APAC. Collaborate closely with the Patent Search team to produce high-value deliverables and help develop new services and analysis methods leveraging Clarivate databases. Requires business-level English, project management experience in consulting (bids/large projects), strong data-analysis capabilities, and an engineering background. The role emphasizes leadership, delivery within deadlines and budgets, client-facing work, and expanding IP knowledge applied to technology and business questions. Hours of work are full-time with core hours in the employee’s time zone and flexibility to accommodate global time zones.
Required Qualifications
- Business English proficiency (English for business use)
- Project management experience (consulting projects, bid or large-scale projects)
- Research experience (policy, regulatory, and business research)
- Consulting delivery experience (requirements definition, data collection/processing, report creation, presentations)
- Engineering background (specific field not required)
- IP search and IP analytics experience (3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of intellectual property (IP)
- IT skills (MS Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and programming (Python, VBA)
- AI utilization skills
- Full-time availability in Tokyo with hybrid schedule
