Job Summary
Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in biomedical and mechanical technology areas, preparing office action responses and handling examiner interviews. Advise clients on patentability, prosecution strategy, and portfolio development while managing deadlines and related communications with precision. Work directly with clients, inventors, and foreign associates to build a practice in a collegial environment that values technical depth and strong writing. This on-site opportunity in Rochester, New York, offers direct client contact and hands-on responsibility for substantive patent matters. After one year, a hybrid schedule may be available.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of substantive patent prosecution experience in biomedical engineering
- Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
- USPTO admission
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- Experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
