Job Summary
Senior Patent Attorney responsible for managing a diverse patent portfolio in technology and finance at JPMorgan Chase. Oversee invention intake, coordinate patent prosecution with outside counsel, engage in inventor outreach, develop protection strategies aligned with business priorities, provide guidance on IP issues, stay current on patent laws and industry trends, and support other IP matters. Requires JD, USPTO registration, 3+ years patent experience, and strong communication skills; preference for Electrical Engineering/CS/software background and in-house experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
- Registered as a patent attorney with the USPTO
- 3+ years of relevant patent experience in a law firm or corporate law department
- Extensive experience in patent prosecution including drafting and prosecution of patent applications
- Strong understanding of patent law, particularly 35 U.S.C. § 101 as applied to software
