Job Summary
Patent Associate with 3–6 years of experience in Las Vegas to draft patent applications (specifications, claims, figures) and prosecute with USPTO across consumer electronics, software, AI/ML and related technologies. Responsibilities include preparing and filing Office Actions, claim amendments, examiner interviews; managing USPTO deadlines and communications; drafting continuations, divisionals, and CIP applications; advising on patent strategy, portfolio development, and licensing/technology transfer; conducting inventor disclosures, opinions (FTO, patentability, invalidity, non-infringement), IP due diligence for M&A/licensing; supporting post-grant proceedings (IPR, PGR, ex parte reexamination) at PTAB; collaboration with inventors, engineers, and in-house counsel. Requirements include J.D., USPTO Patent Bar or eligibility, active state bar, 3–6 years of patent prosecution experience, and an undergraduate or advanced degree in EE/ME/CS/Software Engineering/CS or related field; preferred advanced degree and international/procedure experience. Location is Las Vegas, NV with a strong technical focus and path to partnership.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- USPTO Patent Bar registration or eligibility
- Active state bar admission in good standing
- 3–6 years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in EE, ME, CS, Software Engineering, or closely related field
- Superior drafting skills—technically accurate, strategically sound
