Job Summary
Prepare original patent applications for USPTO filing and draft responses to office actions. Analyze and revise patent agreements, assist with appeals, reexaminations, interviews, and reissues, and negotiate new agreements. Perform patentability and freedom-to-operate searches, conduct publication clearance reviews, and maintain an active prosecution docket. Requires USPTO registration, a degree in Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry, and three years of experience drafting and prosecuting applications. Required Qualifications
- Registered with the USPTO
- Degree in Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Experience and interest preparing patent applications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
- Minimum of three years of experience drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in the USPTO for an intellectual property law firm
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to respond effectively to clients, employees and management and handle sensitive and/or confidential communications
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work under time restraints and deadlines
