Job Summary
Materials Management Manager at Patches West Surgery Center is responsible for managing inventory and procurement for the pediatric outpatient center, coordinating with leadership, vendors, physicians, and staff to determine supply needs, and controlling operating expenses. Duties include ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining availability for surgeries using just-in-time methods, coordinating repairs of instruments/equipment, creating purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, updating computer inventory and charges, matching financial documents for accurate billing, transporting supplies, stocking supplies in OR/recovery, and participating in cost containment and budget-related activities. The role requires knowledge of inventory control, vendor management, instrument maintenance, and proficiency with MS Office and database software, with BLS certification as required by ASC policy.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of materials management experience (preferably in a healthcare setting)
- Knowledge of surgeon preferences, procedures, instrumentation, and equipment
- Adept at various computer software applications including database software, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and MS Office Suite
- BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)
Desired Qualifications
- BLS certification
- Surgical Technologist experience
- Sterile Processing experience
- ASC experience
- Healthcare inventory management experience
